This item was easy to assemble and is neat when in place. My stair case is slightly wider that the average and many of the other gates required an extension piece. I spent a lot of time researching to find the right gate for me.
The opening lever is a little stiff, but it may improve with better technique on my part!
Overall I am very pleased with this product.

A superb product. Easy to fit, easy to open and very effective in keeping our rabbit from coming into the house everytime we open the back door! Next day delivery too and a bargain price with free delivery. I love Amazon!

This gate is very good. I am using it at the kitchen door. It has wide walk through so it is easy to walk with the baby or plates of food in arms. The one hand opening mechanism is not easiest to use but I mastered the technique and it works. Now that I have tried this one will be getting two more of the same for the stairs too.

This gate is really easy to fit without drilling the wall.
The opening lever is bit stiff, so it's difficult to open it with one hand initially, but improves on frequent use. I managed to open it with one hand with a trick. I think that's the way it should be else kids are smart enough and can open the gate if it's easy. My 10-month-old son tries to open it, so far he couldn't and shakes it but it is still fit in place.
I'm pleased with the gate, so I would definitely recomm.
Note: Make sure you check measurements of the wall before ordering any gate.

I don't understand those having problems opening it with one hand. No problem at all with that. Beside it works and it's cheaper than the Ikea one: all said.
